The Mifflin Community Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary was organized in 1966 with sixteen charter members and has since been in session.
The purpose of the Mifflin Community Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary is to aid the fire department, firefighters and the community of Mifflin. The auxiliary also works to improve and promote knowledge of health and safety whenever and wherever possible.
In addition, they purchase items for the department that ensure safety and assist in responding to the needs of the community.
They meet every 4th Monday in March, April, May, June, July, September, October, and November.
Each year the auxiliary selects a "Firefighter of the Year". A plaque is awarded to this special firefighter at the annual Fireman's Banquet held each spring. Time, effort, attitude, and attendance by the fire personnel in the department help determine the award winner.
